Restructuring for performance


Inbev is the 2nd largest brewer in the world and produces many of the leading brands in this markets, such as Stella Artois, Tennents, Boddingtons etc. We have worked with the UK organisation over a number of years supporting them pre and post their merger with Anbev. Our work has focused on creating the optimum organisation and operating model to stay aligned with the changing strategic profile of the group and the market. This has resulted in savings in excess of £15m in 2 tranches out of the non-manufacturing cost base using our organisation design methodology and our experience in cost and process effectiveness initiatives.

However reshaping the organisation is only ever part of the story. The key is to engage employees, ensuring they understand what contribution they can make to the delivery of the newly focused business. Consequently we have worked with them on a programme called Reignite. This programme engaged firstly all senior managers in the business, over 100, working through a number of identified organisational and business challenges that would ensure successful implementation of the new organisation and deliver a challenging commercial plan. We used our ‘lock-in’ methodology and approach to deliver an intense design and engagement programme, which was then applied to a number of subsequent commercial challenges.
